A word from the Author:
I would like to consider my self a modest avatar fan for I appreciate it for what it is, that said, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t change a few things. I am in no way near a short story writer and it doesn’t help that I’m dyslexic but what I do have is a very vivid imagination and a appreciation for continuity. So this is my take as to how book 3 should end and the beginning of book 4 if there was going to be on I have also up the tv rating just to make things more interesting, which means I can indulge in more enticing situations.
Chapter 1: Rage
The fowl sent of destruction saturated the air. Ozai’s castle was now a waste land of char and ruble for it could not in any way contain the epic battle that took place with in it and as the sun crept beneath the distant mountains, the surroundings were light up but the dim glow of burning embers.
“You may be the Avatar but your still just a child” said Ozia as he regained his composure after Aang last attack who was now kneel over Katara motionless, blood drenched body.
“Look at her and tell me how it feels to see your own faith?” Commented Ozia,
he began to slowly but very confidently walk towards them and even those he had a good distance to cross as Aang had blow him straight cross the rubble he was in no rush as he knew what was about to happen.
“I can almost start to feel the presence of Sozin comet and your pathetic retched attempt to defeat me has failed and you have yet to see me in the glorious power of Sozin's comet.”
Ozia began to laugh out loud but not just any laugh, it was a laugh that mocked Aang’s attempts, katara injures and just sent chills of terror down your spin.
Aang for most of the time had been ignoring him and for all intensive proposes had forgotten where he was or what was happen, he was totally over whelm seeing Katara’s body in such a state. She had sacrificed her self to try and protect Aang for a surprise attack by Ozia but her bending skills was just not strong enough to protect her self too. As tears of pain, sorrow and most import love ran down Aang’s face, his sole began to fill with pure hate and revenge towards Ozia and at this point blind rage took over.
“I’LL KILL YOU” roared Aang, and charged head on at Ozia.
A small smirk appeared on Ozia face as to took stance,
“show me what you got little boy” he calmly said.
Chapter 2: The Comet
The night sky was light up with horrific flash of destruction, the earth shock and quivers as large amounts of it was being ripped from it and the winds howled and scream like a thousand soles being burnt alive but yet Aang's attacks could not hit Ozia. To Aang it was as if Ozia could read his mind and would just simply side step out of the way, and this made Aang even more furious making him attack even stronger. The truth was that Aang was suffering from tunnel vision and could not see that Ozia was just toying with him, making him waste his time before the comet arrival.
Gasping for air and filled with frustration, Aang stood there in front of Ozia who was now appear to a giant of over him.
“You stupid boy behold upon my power now” he said as he pointed the comet. “I could of killed you ages ago just like how I did your little girlfriend but I wanted to show you just how powerful I will become now.”
On seeing the comet Aang just fell helpless to his knees, tears had stop running down his face as there was just no more there to cry any more.
“I’ve failed” Aang whispered softly
‘Ozia’
“You fool you never had a chance from the begin and now I shall finish this once and for all”
Ozia point his finger at Aang’s head, the power of the comet was radiating energy into him causing his is eyes to glow orange and a fire-ish glow around his figure that lifted off like a flickering flame. Aang try to do one last move but the sense of hopelessness just made him fall forward on to has hands for why should he continue now that katara was gone?
“Good bye Avatar” smudged Ozia
As Aang wait for his faith there was a bizarre moment of silence that was broken by a warm wet spray onto the back of his head. Aang looked up to Ozia grasping his neck trying to hold back the blood that was rushing from it. Katara had regained just enough consciousness to water bend a small pool of her own blood and grazed Ozia neck.
There wasn’t a moment to loose and seeing that Katara was really dead gave Aang a renewed burst of energy and hope and with a swift flick of his hand Aang rock bended Ozia feet into the ground. Aang sprung to his feet and look him straight in his distressed eyes.
“Side step this” And with one strong move Aang rock bended Ozia straight to the depth of the earth where he was crushed.
“Katara” he shouted as he ran to her “I thought you were…….” Aang could finish the sentence as it was still too much of an unpleasant thought. He arrived by her side just in time to catch her in his arms as she claps. Katara’s skin was pail and cool to the touch, her eyes sunken and her breathing was very shallow, Aang knew she wasn’t going to make it if she did get help fast but the nearest healers were now at the southern water tribe and Appa could fly from an injury he had gotten earlier.
“I’m not going to loose you” he said as he clenched her tightly in his arms.
Chapter 3: Shock Wave
All eyes were now looking at the heavens above as the comet silently swept by. Its long brilliant tale stretched beyond the horizons as the radiate bright glow of it blanketed the landscape in a warm pail orange tint. There were only two exceptions to this, both katara and Aang gazed deeply into each others eyes and both could see their passion, their love and their distress. Aang reached forward and began to gently cress katara’s, cheeks whipping away the soft tears that were running down it.
“Aang…”she pauses as more tears began to run do her face “I love you…”
Aang’s heart explodes with passion and he knew he had to do some thing.
“I have always loved you from the moment my eyes grace your beauty” Aang whispered into her ears. “hold on tight to me and I shall take you away from this”
At this point Aang finally commits to his ability of fire bending and allows the avatar with in him to take in the comets powerful effects. He feels its warmth reaching deep into his body causing the night due to steam off him.
“Aang what are you doing” katara whispers in here weakened voice.
“Just hold on tight!” he replies as he clenches her tighter to him.
In an instant the remnants of Ozia’s castle is once again ravage by a shock wave of air and fire. The sound shatters across the land as Aang and katara are propelled straight into the sky followed by a molotov coctail of air and fire behind them.
“Aang, your…we’re flying!” she screams, for her voice could just be barely heard over the rushing air and roaring fire, as they part through the clouds.
‘Aang’
“I’m taking you to the Southern Water Tribe let’s just hope we have enough time with the comet”
Aang’s face begins to sting as the winds lashes against it, his arms burns from holding katara up and his body pleads and yearns for him to stop bending but he defies his bodies’ calls and bends harder, pushing him fast and higher through the sky.
As they part the heavens Aang just begin to see the tips of the settlement creeping towards them but he also feels the effects of the comet leaving his body. He clenches his teeth and tries to bend even hard but with little effect as they slowly begin to lose speed.
“Come on! Just a little bit more” he constantly repeats as Katara’s grip slowly begins to loosening too.
“katara we are almost there just hold on, hold on please!” He screams at her.
With the settlement only a few hundred feet away the pail glow of the comet’s tail vanishes in the horizon behind them and they begin to plummet towards the frigid cold sea but just at the instance of impact Aang water bends an ice tunnel opening into the heart of the sea with a gentle curve that softly catches their fall. He continues his water bending while sliding through the newly formed tunnel and redirect the opening of it back to the surface of the sea.
Finally after an extreme amount of bending an exhaust Avatar and an unconscious water bender slides up to the New Southern Water Tribe.
