ok, I think it's about time we start

"Poke-sama?" I questioned as I talked to her on the phone in my cluttered office. I folded my legs over on my desk, which casually knocked down a couple papers and my mug, 'number 1 mom', filled with ink pens.
"Yes?" She replied, her voice answered through the earpiece sounding as soft and fuzzy blanket.
"It's been a while since we last talked. At least not in battle..." I sighed.
"Yeah, that's true." Her voiced tickled my ear, because her voice was so soft I had to hold it close to my ear.
"So, how about I, you know, break into a highly guarded warehouse? I would have did it without your consent, but Zero kept worrying that'll get shot or something. So, yeah, I'll ask so if I get caught I can blame you." I couldn't help but grin even though no one will see it.
"Sure, meet me at the warehouse in three hours from now, Lain-sama."
"Ok, see ya then, bye!" I replied happily, taking my feet off the desk, spinning around and tangling the cord across my torso.
She hung up and I blinked. I struggled against my self bound body. Half wanting to call Zero for help and my useless pride, I continued to struggled some more. Suddenly I fell off my chair landing on my side. Shoot, this will be the slowest three hours of my life.

We met in the small weapon warehouse, at 9:00. My boots clunked against the ground making my presence aware to few late night workers. I would have giggled, but that would my self-image of a merciless, cold, and dangerous commander of the hugest elite squad of mercenaries.
"Come on, Lain! WE are gonna have fun, and do cool stuff, and stay up all night..." Poke went on, tugging me along by my arm.
"Poke-chan.." I sweatdropped.
"What?" She turned to stare at me while she walked backwards.
"In fighting a war for many years, killing people, and fighting me you still haven't grown up."
Poke smiled as she turned back to face the front. I followed her more faster paste to her house.
I whispered softly to her back, "I'm glad your still the same."

"Lets play checkers!" Poke said, pulling out a checkers box.
Of course, as usual, before I could answer, Poke was setting up the board on the livings coffee table. So I followed suit and sat down to began our little match of checkers.
