You can't die from it... Unless you make your oppenent do a lot of dangerous things... Katara won't use it unless it is a last resort... She doesn't enjoy controlling others...

I think it would be possible to kill someone with bloodbending be, like, stopping the blood flow to their heart. But I DO think Katara WILL use blood bending in one of the later episodes.

The power she got really took a toll on her and i am sure she never would use it and if she did she would most likely he very shocked at herself. The chances are if she did use it it would probly to protect someone she loved as a last resort.
She could kill with this indeed but she would never ever do that it would distroy her inside.
But hamma did teach her some good things like the wayer from air which i was surpiesed katara didn't allread figure out. This would really become helpfull if someone stole her water and mayby she could teach aang how to do it too.
Thats another thing, can aang bloodbend?
