~Lain's Deams~
I am a question to the world
Not an answer to be heard
Or a moment that's held in your arms
I opened my eyes to my father's looming shadow over my bed. Tears were streaming down his face and into his red Irish looking beard. In between his front two teeth he was yanking on a red hankie and sniffling like a overgrown baby.
I got up, slipped into my purple bunny slippers, and walked out of my room to the hallway as if it was a normal morning routine. Walking down the hall and into the kitchen, somewhere in there my father latched himself onto my feet, my mom greeted me with a apple plus banana muffin and a pat on the head.
"Mother, that man was in my room again." I said, still wearing a blank expression and added,"I swear if he has my room bugged I will kill him."
I sat down at the table and took a big chuck of apple in my mouth. My mom was at the stove making bacon and eggs for my 'dad', because I was a vegetarian. Smelling the food he detached himself from me and grabbed the closest chair and sat down.
"He's only worried for you. Your leaving to that military camp today for god know what reason." She said, pouring me a glass of orange juice.
I finished my muffin and started to take small sips of orange juice, before inputing, "I want to help you guys out, you know, with the fact mom that you married a incompetent pizza while your a beautifully, smart, and successful pineapple."
"Oh dear, what about your life here and your frie-" I interrupted her," Mother, I have no friends and we live in a redneck town."
I sighed and got up, 'that man' was to busy eating and mom was finally sitting down with her own food. I walked out, back into the hallway and into my room, I changed into my new uniform.
It was a basic army attire in till I added a few things so it could match me more. It now consisted of: Green camouflage skirt with a sleek green shorts, green camouflage sleeveless jacket - left unzipped, sleek green sports bra, black boots and belts - crisscrossing, and brown gloves.
I admired myself in my giant mirror that my best friend, Johny, gave me. I stared at myself, 'Life's going to change starting today.'
And what do you think you'd ever say
I won't listen anyway
You don't know me
And I'll never be what you want
Me to be
I was standing in the assemble line where all the new recruits where. I stood by this other girl who, I guessed, was around my age. She turned to me and flashed me a smile while holding out her hand.
"Hi, I'm Pokemonlovergrl." She addressed herself, while I uncertainly shook her hand.
She turned back to watch the stage. I kept staring at her and frowned. There it was again, when I shook her hand I felt like meeting her would change and alter my life.
And what
Do you think you'd understand
I'm boy, no, I'm a man
You can't take me
And throw me away
It's been a week so far since that day. The first day of camp was easy to me, but that was then. Now is now and I'm trying to stay alive. It's harder when you got no group of friends to stand by, but other then the consent teasing I was fine. In a few days here, I was labeled 'Outcast'.
I sometimes send letters home to mom and 'that man'. That was in till one day a was walking to the post office. When I got there the man behind the counter gave me a yellow envelop from the Second Kingdom.
Inside was a note explaining that my parents died in a hate crime. Both was dead and I was alone. I knew that they would want me to return home to live a normal life and not go chasing revenge and live my life in hate, but the more I knew they loved me made my heart grow smaller with rage.
Johny came over and placed a hand on my shoulder to comfort me and for the first time in my life, I cried.
And how
Can you learn what's never shown
Yeah, you stand here on your own
They don't know me
'Cause I'm not here
After losing my parents a relied sorely on Johny. I didn't know how to deal with the pain of losing someone close, because I never made friends before. I ended up taking my frustration out on the camp and every authority figure around me.
I was skipping lessons, snapping at people, and talking back to are instructors. I think the last part got me where I was now.
"You got some nerve coming late for class and then back talking me, Girl!" He was almost close enough to be spitting in my face, of course what I was planning to say back would probably make that happen.
"No, sir. You got it all wrong, I asked if you please shut your face your face up, I wasn't backing talking you." I said, my voice laced with sarcasm.
And like expected, he got real close to my face and spitted out,"Now is that so!?"
Playing the jerk card to see if his face would turn red I also got very close to his face so we were eye-to-eye and bite back with a, "That is correct, Sir."
I was almost laughing my butt off when his face turned as red as a apple, seeing as he was a spaghetti. For a moment he was still, but a wide grin was placed on his face. I stopped laughing and eyed him.
"Well, I guess you wouldn't mind taking that class again next year then." He said, grinning evilly.
And I want a moment to be real
Want to touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on and feel I belong
I was standing in the assemble line again where all the new recruits where. I stood by this other girl who, I guessed, was around my age. She turned to me and flashed me a smile while holding out her hand and I gasped in surprised to see the same girl from last year.
"Hi, I'm Pokemonlovergrl." She addressed herself, while I uncertainly shook her hand.
"I know, I saw you here last year." I said watching her to see the reaction. She eyed me before her eyes widened, " I know you, I was here for a week to check it out. My friend, Zaggy, was planning on coming here, so I wanted to check it out."
She turned back around to talk to one of her friends. I kept staring at her and frowned. That was strange, but I shrugged and turned to the stage again.
And how can the world want me to change
They're the ones that stay the same
They don't know me
'Cause I'm not here
The first day of camp was easy to me, but for some reason not for everyone else. It was harder the first time because I had no group of friends to stand by, but now for some reason Poke befriended me and I met her friends.
I was still very depressed and I will still talk out of turn. Sometime I will find myself wondering why Poke was so happy, considering this was a military camp and even Zaggy was taking it seriously.
When I first interduced Johny to them after a few weeks, to say the least, they didn't like each other. I swear I saw sparks happen between Johny and Zaggy and don't mean the good time. I think it was because Zaggy and I have different views.
And you see the things they never see
All you wanted - I could be
Now you know me
And I'm not afraid
"Hey, Johny!" I said, as I flopped my butt down on his desk. He was a teacher here, which to my opinion fit him perfectly.
He sighed before smiling back at me,"Are you done with your work all already?"
I stared at him in till I realized he was joking. "That's not funny." I said, pouting. He laughed and I bust out laughing at his laugh.
After we calmed down, I passed him some papers with a serious face. He frowned as he took them and looked through it. They were qualification papers, all signed and filled by me. He stared at the stamp mark on the first paper, 'APPROVED'.
He looked up at me,"You know what this means, do you?"
My face split into a wide cheshire cat grin,"You take orders from me now."
And I want to tell you who I am
Can you help me be a man
They can't break me
As long as I know who I am
